余刚,男,1965年生,当阳半月人。清华大学环境科学与工程系教授、系主任。国家杰出青年基金和教育部跨世纪优秀人才基金获得者。
            
        1986年南京大学毕业后继而在该校与中国科学院攻读硕士、博士学位,1992年在清华大学担任讲师。1994年赴加拿大大学进修,同年升为系副主任、副教授。1995年赴日本研修。1997年至1998年作为高级访问学者访问英国。1998年起担任清华大学环境科学与工程系副主任、教授、博士生导师,系学术委员会副主任。主要兼职有国际水质协会会员、中国环境科学学会会员、国家863环境主题专家组成员等。作为项目负责人与主要参与者,已完成科研课题20多项,其中,包括3项国家自然科学基金项目,2项国际合作项目。已经和正在培养多名硕士、博士生。1996年获“国家八五科技攻关环境保护项目先进个人”、“国家计委、国家科委、财政部国家八五科技攻关成果”、“国家八五科技攻关优秀成果”等多项奖励;1997年获“国家科技进步二等奖”;1998年入选“教育部跨世纪优秀人才”。现主持国家“九五”科技攻关课题,发表论文70多篇。
            
        主要从事持久性有机污染物的污染特征、控制原理和控制战略研究。近五年完成了“十五”国家重大科技专项、国家973计划课题、国家自然科学重点基金、国家环保部项目、国际合作项目等30多项研究任务;目前正在承担来自国家科技部、自然基金委、环保部、国际组织如联合国环境规划署、联合国工发组织等10多项研究任务。研究成果曾获2项国家科技进步二等奖和3项省部级一、二等奖。
       
        在国内外期刊和会议上发表论文100多篇,其中SCI收录的近60篇,负责或参加编写的书籍10多本。曾被国家环保局表彰为“国家八五科技攻关环境保护项目先进个人”,获教育部“跨世纪优秀人才培养计划”基金,中国环境科学学会“第二届青年科技奖”,“霍英东优秀青年教师基金”,“国家杰出青年基金”,国务院政府特殊津贴。
       
        主讲的课程《环境监测》被评为国家精品课程,指导的博士论文获2008年北京市优秀博士论文。
