Wujiacun Recycled Waterworks, Beijing Drainage Environment Development Company, Beijing 100071,China) Abstract: The nitrogen removal potential of selector was analyzed by combining the running status of Cyclic Activated Sludge Technology (CAST). The effect of expanding anoxic zone on nitrogen removal performance was discussed by adjusting aeration. The results showed that expansion of anoxic zone was beneficial to make use of influent COD to denitrify, and effluent TN was stable below 15mg/L. Process optimization can enhance nitrogen removal performance of CAST, save aeration energy consumption and reduce dosage of carbon source. Keywords: CAST; anoxic zone; nitrogen removal; aeration
